There are many reasons why men
can be quiet. They may be quiet because they’re looking for solution to a
particular problem, upset or stressed. Men think deeply during this period. Women
need to understand this sacred moment of men. It’s not the time to ask him why
he’s not talking. He won’t give you a right answer. Most of the times men will
say “NOTHING”. If you know you didn’t offend him, don’t panic, your man is
thinking. Leave him; he’s just trying to find solution to a particular problem
which can be from office, friends, or even home. Respect this moment of silence
by engaging in other activities. Just leave a message like this “Honey, when
you’re ready to talk I’m available”.
You can even engage in
other activities like cooking, shopping, listening to music, watching TV or
reading a book. Just get yourself busy. Men love to be left alone at this
moment. I know this can be foreign to women because you love attention. Also,
it may be difficult for you as a woman
to leave your lover but you’ll do yourself good if you do this. Because forcing
your man to open up when he is in this cave of silence can be disastrous. I bet
you when he’s done, he’ll definitely look for you. You can then ask him what
happened.
When he feels free to
talk, don’t interrupt. Allow him pour out his mind. During this moment, refrain
from offering unsolicited advice. Bite your tongue if you’re tempted or else
you will stop the flow. And if he doesn’t want to talk about it (I know women don’t
like this), don’t be annoyed. Just tell him “I trust you can handle it but if
you need help I am available”. Men always
feel loved and supported hearing this. Even though he didn’t want to open up, he
would be motivated to do so. Always remember this, don’t offer unsolicited
advice unless he asks for it.
Men, this is for you. Learn
to say “Honey, I am not in the mood to talk now. Maybe later”. It’s better not
saying anything. This drives women crazy. Your woman can misinterprete your
silence and feel unloved and ignored. Try to avoid this.
